Rachel Gaffney grew up in Cork, and moved to the United States in 1996. She made her mother's special shortbread cookies for parties of her own, and soon friends began to ask her to make it for their gatherings. From there, she ventured into catering intimate groups and creating Rachel Gaffney's Authentic Irish Goods. She now also travels the United States educating people about the Real Ireland through interactive cooking classes incorporating authentic Irish goods along with an entertaining dose of history and culture.
